Register for the 11th Annual Early Californios Skills of the Rancho
You will complete and submit the Entry Form online, one entry per rider; credit card and PayPal payments are accepted. As an exception, you can mail checks to CBA, 480 Ortega Ridge Rd, Santa Barbara, CA 93108, but your entry is based on the date of receipt of payment and isn’t guaranteed until payment is received.
We strongly recommend you read the event descriptions and rules and scoring information provided above before signing up. Check back later for 2024 information. It is important you sign up for the class of event that best fits your skill level; the event descriptions can guide you.
Also, note that there are limits to the number of participants in each event. If your event is full, the online form offers an option to add your name to a waiting list for that event. You are not charged for the event until you are officially entered.
Again This Year: If spots are available after all Waitlist Entries have been fulfilled, you can enter a second time for any of the classes. On the entry form, select the 2nd Entry/Overflow option if you want to enter a 2nd Ranch Horse Class in the same "rider" category (e.g., intermediate, novice, etc.) for a second horse in the same or different gear (bridle, two-rein or hackamore). You will not be charged until your entry is confirmed.
New This Year: Youth and Junior Sponsorships: CBA recognizes the importance of teaching young people the value of the California vaquero traditions. To help promote our youth participation, we are excited to announce that the CBA will sponsor all Youth and Junior competitors for the 2024 Skills.
Important: Waiver and Release of Liability. Before you can compete in the Skills you must agree to the Release, Waiver, and Hold Harmless Agreement by checking the consent box on your Entry form.
